As a leader in the discovery and development of new active ingredients from novel biological sources, we have decided to modify our company name to better reflect what we do and the broadest community we serve. Our new name is Marrone Bio Innovations.

It’s an exciting time to be a member of the crop protection industry. With few new active ingredients on the horizon, increasing resistance problems and new pest problems, such as citrus greening, vine mealybug, glassy winged sharpshooter, and soybean rust, growers are continually facing crop protection challenges and finding fewer solutions in their toolbox.  Here at Marrone Bio Innovations, we’re poised to tackle these challenges and are dedicated to filling unmet crop protection needs with effective and environmentally responsible natural ‘bio’ solutions.

We are proud to be in the business of Biopesticides, a crop protection category that is growing, maturing and realizing widespread acceptance by farmers and agribusiness throughout the world.  It may surprise you to know that more than 80 percent of today’s biopesticides are used in conventional farming and are not strictly for the organic market. At Marrone Bio Innovations, we are discovering, developing and marketing products for today’s and tomorrow’s pest challenges, all derived from biological or natural sources, and all as effective as conventional synthetic chemical pesticides.

As biopesticides, our products offer additional benefits, such as short re-entry intervals and no pre-harvest intervals, providing operational flexibility and residue management. They have complex modes of action, aiding in the prevention of pest resistance. These natural biologically-derived products are extremely low risk to applicators, beneficial non-target organisms and the environment.

Whenever possible, MBI develops product formulations that meet the requirements of the National Organic Program. This means organic farmers will continue to benefit from the same effective pest management tools as conventional operations, reaping the benefits of higher quality and higher yields by employing effective, environmentally responsible biopesticides when their use is necessary. We remain as committed as ever to supplying organic growers with new and effective products for use in organic production.

Marrone Bio Innovations, Inc. is one of the few biopesticide companies dedicated to INNOVATION – finding novel solutions to existing and new problems through our in-house discovery efforts, while also in-licensing and partnering with other companies who have exciting new technology.
